Be careful
when you look at me
is it me you want
or what I have
for my strength is not my own
and
my heart is not empty
for I am connected
to power
that is limitless
do not ask me
to deny my faith
for in so doing
I deny myself
and you will loose
what you want
when you look at me |

"This is another of my favorites, because it says (still) so much about me, and what I believe. I have a very strong faith in God and Jesus, and though that might mean different things to me than others, its still very real. This poem is number four of another group of poems. I have the other parts somewhere, I wrote them down in a journal sitting in the park next to the river in Carlsbad New Mexico on one of my first vacations home there from college my freshman year. I gave the book to a good friend of mine (Sean) to read one time, and haven't got it back from him. He's in the Navy now (last I knew) so i dont know if i ever will."
